During the general meeting held on June 23, 2023, the incumbent president, Prof. Dr. Vasile Baltac, announced his retirement from this leadership position.
Professor Vasile Baltac led ATIC for over three decades, during which he made a significant contribution to the development of the IT industry in Romania and to the strengthening of our country’s international reputation. In recognition of his outstanding efforts, Dr. Vasile Baltac was elected president of CEPIS, the European association of IT professionals, and vice president of WITSA, the world alliance of professional associations in the field.
According to the ATIC statute, Professor Vasile Baltac becomes honorary president of the association and dean of the ATIC Forum, thus remaining involved in the organization’s activities and further contributing to the evolution of the IT industry.
Following the retirement of president Vasile Baltac, the general assembly elected Mr. Alin Niță, a recognized professional in the field of information and communication technologies, to this position.
Mr. Niță is the general manager of FivePlus Solutions and has distinguished himself as an active promoter of the development of the digital field in Romania.
The Association for Information Technology and Communications in Romania (ATIC) is the oldest IT association in the country and aims to facilitate the exchange of information, collaboration and cooperation between members. The fundamental purpose of ATIC is to support and honor creativity in the field of IT, while respecting the laws and promoting the efficient and professional use of new scientific discoveries.
ATIC will continue to be an influential force in the development of Romania’s IT industry, promoting innovation, collaboration and growth opportunities in this vital sector of the national economy. The new management, under the guidance of President Alin Niță, will seek to further strengthen Romania’s position as a regional IT hub and promote the advantages and opportunities offered by information and communications technology.
