Tremend, the company that entered the FT 1000 ranking of the most dynamic players in Europe four times in a row, turns 15. The software development company continues its upward trend and estimates a turnover of 20 million Euros at the end of the year, an increase of 32% compared to 2019.
With clients in 20 countries on 4 continents and with more than 700 large-scale projects launched in sectors such as finance, telecom, automotive or retail, Tremend has consolidated its position among the strongest players in the region. It is based on long-term customer relationships and partnerships with industry leaders such as Microsoft, Salesforce or Mastercard. At the same time, investments in R&D and the development of innovative solutions are starting to bring results, and the direction will be supported in the future in areas such as Cloud, artificial intelligence (AI) and Customer Experience.
Thus, for sectors oriented towards digitalization, the company has launched competitive platforms such as TORP, the digital enrollment solution with applicability in the fields of finance, telecom, education, health and ObservED, which replaces an invigilator during written exams, relying on the biometric data of the participants. At the same time, Tremend’s team of software specialists is working on the development of the research project HumanID. It uses artificial intelligence to verify and validate the holder of an ID by comparing the ID photo with the person holding it, with a role in digital onboarding applications. Another research project in which the company is involved, together with the Politehnica University of Bucharest and the University of Bucharest, is Graphomaly, the application for detecting, also through artificial intelligence, anomalies in financial transactions.
“Together with more than 400 colleagues, we build systems based on our own methodologies that we continuously improve, so as to bring benefits to our customers, such as increasing productivity and decreasing costs. Internal investments in R&D, the launch of the Innovation Department, are intended to help our partners find the most effective solutions and easily overcome the challenges caused by the context”, states Marius Hanganu, Managing Partner, Tremend.
In order to capitalize on business opportunities, the software company has added new clients to its portfolio in the last year, such as Credex, Altex, Libra bank, First Bank, European Environment Agency, etc.
Tremend has also become a technology partner of the European Commission, being selected for several educational projects and is the consortium leader for EPAL, the electronic platform for adult education in Europe. In addition, it is the technology partner for the development of the platform eTwinning of the European Commission, which promotes collaboration between educational units in Europe, through the use of information and communication technologies, and took over the construction of the platform School Education Gateway, the European Commission’s online school education solution.
Quickly adapting to the new context, the team of software specialists works remotely not only from Bucharest or Brașov, the cities where Tremend also has development centers, but also from Cluj, Craiova, Iași, Suceava or from the USA, Belgium and the UK.
“Tremend is 15 years old and we want to thank our colleagues and customers who accompany us on this journey full of challenges. The latest challenge is the crisis generated by Covid-19, in which we do everything we can to ensure that the members of the Tremend team operate in optimal working conditions. With each project developed, we have strengthened our image as a reliable partner in technology, both for our local and international customers, we have emphasized innovation, we have adopted tools and technologies emerging technologies that we have integrated into our solutions. Next, we want to support companies in digitizing their processes for an easier interaction with their customers, developing new solutions and products.” mentions Ioan Cocan, Managing Partner, Tremend.
In the next period, the focus will be on expanding the business internationally in the USA, Great Britain and Germany. The stronger focus will be on specialization in areas such as Financial Services, Public Services, Retail & Consumer, Telecom, Chip Design Verification and Semiconductors, so that solutions and products developed on the basis of emerging technologies are customized, in the shortest possible time, according to the needs of customers. Tremend thus becomes not only a technology player, but a consultant with expertise in several industries.
The company will also focus its efforts on growth in areas such as Customer Experience (CX), Cloud and AI, on solutions using Magento and Salesforce, but also on developing frameworks for reusable applications using Agile methodologies.
