Working group coordinator:Olivia Comsa
Cyber securityit is no longer an exclusively technical concern — it is a strategic stake for the economy, public administration and the daily life of citizens. The Cybersecurity and Blockchain working group brings together the expertise of ATIC members to contribute to strengthening Romania’s digital resilience.
In a European context defined by the NIS2 Directive, the DORA Regulation, the Cyber Resilience Act and the accelerated growth of cyber threats, Romanian companies and public institutions need guidance, best practices and a common voice in the dialogue with the authorities.
The working group brings to the same table specialists in information security, lawyers, representatives of the academic environment and companies that deliver cyber protection solutions. On the blockchain component, we aim to explore practical applications — digital identity, electronic signature, traceability, smart contracts — and clarify the regulatory framework (including MiCA).
Atticalready has a collaboration protocol with NCC-RO (National Cyber Security Coordination Center), which gives the group direct access to European consultations and initiatives.
The objectives of the working group:
- Monitoring and formulating public positions on European and national legislation (NIS2, DORA, CRA, eIDAS 2, MiCA)
- Promoting good cyber security practices with a focus on SMEs and entities in critical sectors
- Facilitating collaboration between members, authorities (NCC-RO, DNSC, ANCOM) and international partners
- Identifying blockchain applications with real impact in the economy and administration
- Access to European funding programs (Digital Europe, Horizon Europe, PNRR)
- Organization of events, technical workshops and educational materials for
professionals
Work directions:
- Advocacy and public policy— contributions to public consultations, partnerships with the authorities
- Knowledge and expertise transfer— thematic sessions, case studies, practical guides
- Conformity— support for the implementation of NIS2 and other relevant frameworks
- Innovation— pilot projects with blockchain technologies for the public and private sector
The group is open to companies active in cyber security or blockchain, CISO officers and security teams of organizations in critical sectors, lawyers specializing in technology law, university researchers and teachers, as well as independent professionals with relevant experience.
