The Ministry for the Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship, in partnership with the Association for Information Technology and Communications – ATIC, organized, between April 16-19 this year, an economic mission to promote Romanian IT&C products in the State of Kuwait. The representatives of the Romanian IT&C companies participating in the mission were accompanied by the executive vice-president of ATIC and representatives of the Ministry for the Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship.
The Romanian delegation presented the products and services offered to the representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the State of Kuwait (CCIK), the discussions being continued in the framework of B2B meetings with companies in the field of information technology. CCIK representatives highlighted the opportunities that Romanian companies have to participate in the implementation of projects within the “New Kuwait 2035” Vision.
The mission program continued at the Ministry of Public Works, an entity responsible for governmental projects of the State of Kuwait, where the presentations given by Romanian companies led to discussions with officials of the Kuwaiti ministry regarding concrete directions of action for the implementation of IT&C products.
The agenda of the Romanian mission in the State of Kuwait ended at the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), the institution that manages the projects of Kuwaiti state institutions related to the IT&C sector. The general director of CAIT, Qusai Al Shatti, spoke about the positive image of the IT&C sector worldwide, highlighting the potential of collaboration between the Romanian entities present at the meeting and state institutions running projects in the field. In this context, Qusai Al Shatti has expressed his willingness to organize an event in the fall of this year that will be attended by both representatives of the Kuwaiti ministries and prominent companies from Romania, in order to identify the best cooperation solutions in the IT&C field.
During the entire duration of the economic mission in the State of Kuwait, the Romanian delegation was accompanied by the Romanian ambassador to the State of Kuwait, H.E. Daniel Tănase and the economic advisor, Dragoș Robu.
The Romanian companies participating in the mission were: 4 E Software, BitDefender, GreenSoft, Imprezio Global, Ingenios.ro, Kuantero, Next Planet, Online Services, Q-East Software, Tellence, TGS Software.
The economic mission takes place within the framework of the Export Support and Promotion Program with partial financing from the state budget, to increase the visibility of Romanian IT&C companies, in order to promote Romania’s cooperation with the State of Kuwait in one of the fields where our country is competitive.
