Working group coordinator: under designation

Digitization of the medical systemit is one of Romania’s biggest opportunities—and challenges—in the next decade. The Medicine and Health Working Group brings together health IT solution providers, medical professionals, lawyers and representatives of public institutions to accelerate the transition to a more efficient and patient-centered system.

From the electronic patient record to telemedicine, from artificial intelligence in diagnosis to software medical devices and the European Health Data Space (EHDS), technology is fundamentally transforming the medical sector. The working group analyzes these directions, formulates common positions and supports the implementation of solutions in hospitals, clinics and institutions of the health system.

The group’s activity is carried out in dialogue with the Ministry of Health, CNAS, the College of Doctors, medical universities, patient associations and European partners.

The objectives of the working group:

  • Promotion of digital solutions in the Romanian medical system — eHealth, telemedicine, electronic file
  • Consultation on the applicable legislation (MDR, EHDS, GDPR in a medical context)
  • Supporting the adoption of artificial intelligence and advanced data analysis in diagnosis and prevention
  • Identifying funding opportunities for digitization projects in health
  • Exchange of best practices between hospitals, medical software providers and authorities
  • Awareness programs for medical staff and patients

Work directions:

  • Digital infrastructure— electronic record, interoperability, medical cloud
  • Telemedicine and access to services— remote consultations, home monitoring
  • AI in the medical record— diagnostic imaging, decision support, personalized medicine
  • Data, Ethics and Compliance— patient data protection, EHDS, clinical research

The group is open to companies developing healthcare software solutions, medical technology integrators, public and private hospitals, doctors and healthcare professionals with an interest in technology, biomedical researchers and specialized lawyers.
